Points to Ponder:

What is it that you love (treasure) more than anything else?

We all probably know that we SHOULD love God more than we do, but have you ever thought about HOW to love God more?  Can you simply wish for it and make it happen?

Certain regular practices that we do to maintain our spiritual health are often referred to as ‘spiritual disciplines’.  For example, prayer, Bible study and regular worship.  What spiritual disciplines do you regularly practice?

Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”  Matt. 6:21  If you were to regularly practice giving where your heart WANTS to give, do you think that that your heart would eventually ‘catch up’?

Do you agree that giving of your earthly treasures affects your heart?  If your gifts were regularly given to God, would you then draw closer to God?

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are my loving example of sacrificial giving.  The gift of your Son and your grace and mercy to me are beyond belief.  Help me to trust in you, to release my worldly treasures and worries, and to strengthen my spiritual disciplines so that I may more fervently embrace you.  Amen.
