LOOKING INWARD

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18-19

Points to Ponder:

Jesus was speaking of himself in the verses printed above. He was naming for himself what he believes God has called him to be about. Has God called you for a specific purpose? If so, can you name it?

Using this scripture, look “inward” to discern how God has gifted you through your abilities, interests, passions, convictions, etc.

How has the ministry of Abiding Love encouraged you and nurtured you in those gifts and passions?

Would you consider using those God-given gifts and talents to serve the Lord?

In what ways has Abiding Love provided opportunities for you to live out God’s purpose for your life?

PRAYER:
Holy Spirit, you are my sustainer and helper in all things, help me to discern your purpose in my life. Help me to see and use the special gifts you have given me to fulfill your purpose in my life. Help me to find my place in your church. Amen.
