Sunday
School is looking for families willing to share their talents one
Sunday this
summer to teach the Word of God to the families of our Church and
community.
The Bible story, theme and an activity suggestion will be provided. The
family
will provide the materials and the imagination for the class. No
experience is
necessary, just a willingness to share your talents. Help will be
provided if
requested. The “Little Ones of God” are counting on you to show them
the “Joy of God's Word."
ALTAR
GUILD HELP NEEDED!! Abiding Love Altar Guild needs members to serve for the 11:00 am Worship Services in June, July and August, and also for early services in August. We would also love to have new members of the Alter Guild!! Call Amelia Mettke, 288-1994
The
Food Pantry continues to serve the Community every Monday from
1:15-4:00 p.m.
We greatly appreciate the contributions made to keep the Food Pantry
shelves
full. The Christian Service Board would like to thank the congregation
for
their generous donations which were shared on the FIRST SUNDAY/FOOD
PANTRY day
on
Sunday, June 3. We will continue to accept donations throughout the month in our Food Pantry cart which is located in the Reception Area. If you wish to contribute, the Food Pantry always needs canned meats, vegetables, fruits, and soups. We continuously need cereal, dried pinto beans & pasta, peanut butter, toiletries, toilet paper, & diapers (sizes 3,4, 5, & 6). We are also continuing to share children's books with our Food Pantry families and need more books to share. Of course, monetary contributions are always welcome. You can make your checks out to " THE FOOD PANTRY NEEDS YOU! In addition to donations, we still need volunteers from 1:15-4:15 on Mondays, especially in the summer months when many of our regular volunteers are going on vacations. We also need additional assistance with morning set ups and food pick ups from the Capital Area Food Bank on Monday mornings. If you can help with the Monday morning Food Pantry jobs, please contact Diane McGowan at 892-4416 to make arrangements. Don't forget! Our High School and Middle School Youth can earn community service hours when they volunteer! So, we hope you will participate in this wonderful service project! Thanks, in advance, for all your help and support. JUST
A REMINDERThe Christian Service Board would like to remind the congregation that our Senior High youth group is still participating in the Ink Out Hunger computer ink cartridge campaign. When your computer ink cartridge is empty, bring it to church and donate it to the Ink Out Hunger campaign. If you go into the church workroom, you will see the Ink Out Hunger display. There are self-addressed, postage-paid envelopes in which you can mail your smaller cartridges. The larger cartridges may be placed in the recycle box. Megabyte Express will evaluate the ink cartridges and use the funds raised to purchase meals at the Capital Area Food Bank. Don't throw those cartridges in the trash— Remember the Senior High Youth are needing you to support their service project with your ink cartridges! Thanks!
